My work borrows heavily from my day job as a New York City public librarian. I use donated and discarded books and other materials as fodder for drawings, collages, and other works on paper. I employ drawing, painting, mixed media, and collage to make pieces that are expressive, emotionally and psychologically charged, and lately more political.
My work is an attempt at and a search for wholeness and oneness. I draw ideas and make connections from seemingly disparate sources through an intuitive and unplanned approach. I begin most often without a fixed idea and am surprised myself at the unforeseen unity that develops during the process.
